EXPOSING THE TRUE COST OF WILDLIFE CRIME
BECAUSE NONE OF US CAN AFFORD MASS EXTINCTION
The upcoming documentary, The Price, introduces audiences to one of Africa’s oldest and most respected conservation families, the Reillys of the kingdom of Swaziland. A pioneer of endangered species reintroduction, Ted Reilly is a peaceful, animal-loving man forced into a war he never wanted. After the first Rhino Wars devastated his homeland’s carefully reconstructed rhino population in the early 1990s, the wars have returned. Now Ted, along with his son Mick, must once again lead Swaziland’s brave ranger force into battle against heavily-armed criminal syndicates determined to obtain rhino horn at any cost.
Following a trail of corruption from Africa to Asia to the United States, The Price examines the true cost of wildlife crime and exposes both the international legal loopholes and the illegal and violent actions driving the disappearance of our planet’s last great creatures.
Supported by interviews with some of the world’s most iconic wildlife experts and rhino activists on three continents, The Price shows audiences what it means to stand body and soul between a species and its extinction and illuminates a pathway forward for the beloved rhino.
